Pastoral Support

The mental health and wellbeing of our children is of paramount of importance. If a child is to achieve their full potential, they need to have the self-esteem, self-confidence and resilience to persevere when the going gets tough. We have invested heavily in our Pastoral Support and are immensely proud our relational approach and what we offer our children and families.

ROOMS

Nurture/Pastoral Room

Our Pastoral room is a retreat away from the hustle and bustle of the school and the children love having time in there. With a kind, caring and calm atmosphere, it’s a great place to reset and work on personal, social and emotional skills.

Zen Den

Some children can find school life overwhelming at times, the Zen Den is the perfect place to take some time out and regulate.

Quiet Room

Children sometimes need or prefer to work somewhere quieter and freer from discussion, some adults do sometimes! The Quiet Room is the perfect place to get back on track before returning back to class, ready to learn.

Sensory Room

Our SEN and younger children particularly love spending time in our Sensory Room, it’s a lovely experience for the senses.

Additional Support

We also have additional, full-time, non-class-based staff to help if additional support is needed.

Kate Jagger – Special Needs co-ordinator (SENDCo)

Kate has an excellent knowledge and understanding of the special needs we have in school and is usually able to organise additional support from external agencies where appropriate.

Hayley Wild – Relational (Behaviour) Lead

Hayley works closely with a team of Educational Psychologists who we employ to support us in the best way to support children who struggle to regulate their behaviour. We also receive guidance from other schools and external agencies in the local area and further afield and are proud of the experience we offer our children and families.
