At Flakefleet Primary School, Little Lighthouse is accessible from the age of 2 and provides a warm, caring and nurturing environment for our youngest children.
We understand that taking those first steps away from home can feel like a big moment for both children and families. Our aim is to make that transition happy, gentle and reassuring, helping every child to feel safe, secure and confident.
Learning Through Play
At Little Lighthouse, children learn through play, exploration and positive relationships.
Our caring team provides a range of exciting experiences that encourage children to explore the world around them, develop their communication and language, build friendships and become increasingly independent.
We understand that young children develop at their own pace, and we celebrate every little milestone along the way.
A Home from Home
Little Lighthouse provides a calm, welcoming and nurturing environment where children can feel comfortable and settled.
We take the time to get to know every child and their family, building strong relationships that help children feel secure and ready to explore and learn.
We work closely with parents and carers because you know your child best. Sharing information, celebrating progress and working together helps us give every child the best possible start.
Growing with Flakefleet
Little Lighthouse is part of the Flakefleet family, giving our youngest children the opportunity to become familiar with our school community from an early age.
As children grow and develop, they can progress naturally through our Early Years provision, building on the confidence, independence and skills they have developed during their time at Little Lighthouse.

We can’t wait to welcome your little one to Little Lighthouse.
Two year olds are unique and here at The Little Lighthouse we understand the importance of providing a range of opportunities for their little minds to explore.
Here we have a large spacious room containing various stimulating areas, from role play to a sensory den, physical play to a creative area. The Little Lighthouse children enjoy continuous provision both indoors and outdoors and are provided with activities daily, linking to the prime areas of development from the EYFS.
Being two is probably the most explosive period of development on a child’s journey through childhood and we understand just how important it is to provide a calm, happy environment in order for them to explore and make their own choices.
